Arnold Schwarzenegger is in talks to star in the independent action movie Captive, to play an American real estate mogul who is kidnapped and held for ransom.
The 64-year-old former California governor is in early talks to star in the film in which his character, living in Brazil, is held in an armoured truck hidden in a Sao Paolo landfill from which he tries to escape, reported Deadline.
No other casting announcements have been made yet, including who will play the detective specialising in kidnap who works to find the missing man.
Nicolai Filgsig, who wrote the story, had planned to direct the film but has now stepped out to serve as executive producer alongside Eva Maria Daniels.
Once a director has been found for the movie, Emmett, Furls Films, who are financing the project, hope to start filming Captive next year.
Schwarzenegger's link to the film comes days after it was revealed he will play a "substantial" part in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables 2 after making a brief appearance in the first film.
Schwarzenegger is also on board to star in The Last Stand which will mark Kim Jee-Woon's English-language debut.
